March was complete madness. Aside from watching copious amounts of college basketball, I hit the road for some highlighted shows to date. Going out for a few dates with my gal pal Sierra Hull was so much fun. We reminisced about the good old days when she lived in Boston and would come and stay with me on Cape Cod. We offered insight into where we got our favorite stage clothes and secret spots for good coffee on the road. I hope to get back out there with Sierra later this year if all pans out.
After my weekend out with Sierra, I flew to Mexico for a very short vacation to celebrate my sister’s 50th birthday! It was a turn-and-burn of a trip, but I got to escape the rain of Cape Cod and enjoyed some delicious tequilas and tacos for a few days.
Raul Malo is one of my all-time favorite people and singers. His singing is effortless, and his presence is captivating to all who have enjoyed one of his solo performances. It felt so good to catch up with Raul, Dino (his son), and Rick, his tour manager, aka T.M. I brought them some local Holbrook Oysters to our show in Newport at the Jane Pickens Theatre. We, of course, did our pre-show tequila tasting and fell in love with each other’s guitars. Raul’s band, The Mavericks, has a new album dropping in May. Make sure that you check it out. I got a sneak peek of the album and listened to it nonstop on my way back to Cape Cod from New York.

As always, thank you for being here! And please excuse any typos. I’m just a Texas girl with a little bit of howdy!
